I would like to know how many people actually watch the fat content with their meal planning as much as they do with their carbs? Recently I read an article that stated that over 50% of the people who cut back carbs ate more fat in place of it.

What is your fat, protein and carb intake daily?

Thanks

Yes, Dan, our diet is higher in protein, and therefore higher in fat. However, we do not believe in the myth of low fat diets. If our cholesterol and blood profiles are testing well, we are losing the weight we desire, and/or we're experiencing the high energy and mood stability that we desire in our lives...in general, we don't count fat or protein grams in our diet.

Because our blood sugar is well maintained, and insulin under control, we don't experience hunger pangs, carb cravings and other side effects that those on low fat "diets" do. Our bodies readust to burning stored fat, protein, and "good" carbs for the energy we need, rather than blood sugar, since our goal is to maintain steady, low blood sugar, and therefore the control of insulin (the fat storage hormone that controls a lot more than just energy use and storage).

If you'd like more information about the low carb/low glycemic lifestyle, please email me thru the site. I'm happy to provide some typical lower carb menus for either weight loss, or just health maintenance. I always suggest anyone who has questions about the science of our lifestyle refer to the "low carb resources" file on this site, and choose one of the excellent reading recommendations.

Thanks for your interest and question!
