I've finally got a copy of the movie I wanted us all to watch, and am planning two movie nights, (complete with snacks), so hopefully, as many of us as possible can make it. You've received two emails, one with each date and a link to RSVP to that date...please respond only to the date you'd like to attend.

The building at 2200 Market Street has a great movie-watching room, with comfy chairs and a big screen, but seats are limited, so please RSVP for your preferred date and time as soon as possible. Bring as many friends as you like, just make sure you RSVP with an accurate count, and change it if your number changes.

I'll be making some low-carb snacks for sale (what's a movie without munchies?) but I want the movie to be free to everyone in our group. It's a terrific Canadian documentary that was shown at a recent national meeting of bariatric physicians, and is a testimony to the power of low-carb, low-glycemic eating.

Here's a synopsis of the film:

MY BIG FAT DIET
A Film By Mary Bissell

Supersize Me meets Northern Exposure in My Big Fat Diet, a documentary about how the Namgis First Nation of Alert Bay takes up a dietary challenge and returns to a traditional style of eating for a year. The rules were simple: eat lots of protein, fat and vegetables; give up sugar, junk food, and starch. Funny, heartfelt and thought-provoking, this account of a small town's battle of the bulge raises questions about everything we ever thought was true about diet.

The film's website: http://www.mybigfatdi...

Hope everyone will get a chance to see this groundbreaking film...it's motivational and confirmational for us...documenting the first medical and cultural study of its kind in North America. Please don't hesitate to email me with any questions you may have...see you soon!

    •  Thanks to everyone who came...it was great to see you all! The movie was great, I feel very motivated, and encouraged by the research that was done in this remote town in BC Canada. If you want to borrow my copy of the movie, I'm happy to share it, I think it's a "must see" if you've got blood sugar or cholesterol issues, are looking to successfully lose a good deal of weight, or are just looking to eat healthier on a plan that's more satisfying than any regime you've ever been on.
